News from Chris Stewart SportsChris Stewart Sports.com
Noon CST - Live from Bama Fever...it's the Roundtable - Hanging out at Bama Fever/Team Fever in Pelham as my friends from the JOX Roundtable originate their daily sports talk show. Obviously, there is a ton of discussion today, about National Signing Day. Today is another big signing day for the Alabama football program. Unlike the past two years, this class is not one that is necessary to put the Crimson Tide back on the national map. Instead, this is one that will fill in some holes for the defending national champions, as well as the paving the way for the 2011 squad to contend once again.

10:45 pm CST - Looking ahead to Wednesday... I hope everybody had a good weekend. It was great to see the Tide pick up a much-needed win against Miss. State. Alabama needs to keep the momentum going against a wounded LSU team, that is the last SEC squad without a league victory. Tipoff Wednesday night is set for 7, with air time on the Crimson Tide Sports Network beginning at 6:30. You can hear the game on affiliate stations around Alabama, as well as on XM Radio Channel 201. Time won't always allow it, but I hope to share some of my game notes with you from time-to-time. Here are just a few that I will be using on the game broadcast, courtesy of UA Basketball SID Ty Patton and LSU's Kent Lowe.

5 pm CST - If you like excuses, Anthony Grant is NOT your man... This week was a tough one for Alabama's Men's Basketball team. On Wednesday, the Crimson Tide dropped a 65-64 heartbreaker to Vanderbilt. In that game, the Commodores shot 20 more free-throws than Alabama at Coleman Coliseum. There was also a play in the final seconds in which the Tide's Anthony Brock made a drive to the basket for a potential game-winning shot, only to lose the ball on the way up. Most in the crowd - myself included - thought Brock had been fouled, but there was no whistle.
